This course is designed for new users of SQL or self-taught users. The course covers all aspects of querying your data using SQL with MS Access as a platform.
No Prior experience or knowledge of SQL is required to attend this course. However, use or understanding of MS Access Queries or similar would be beneficial. You must have good basic windows, keyboard and mouse skills.
This is a 2 day SQL Introduction course. The course starts at 09:30 and runs until 16:30. Alternate timings can be arranged upon request. The course can be held on a date that suits you.
Our SQL Introduction course can be run onsite, at our training venue near Kings Cross (London) or any preferred location in the UK or Europe.

Queries in MS Access databases
SELECT - FROM statement (including DISTINCT)
WHERE statement; conditional operators including logical operators, wildcards, LIKE, BETWEEN, IN, AND, OR
Calculated columns & aliases
Aggregate functions (eg SUM, MIN, MAX, AVG)
Date calculations (eg DATE, DATEPART, DATEADD, DATEDIFF)
GROUP BY clause
Joins (inner, outer, self-joins)
Adding data using SELECT INTO, INSERT INTO
Updating existing records; SET statement
Deleting records eg DELETE FROM
Creating tables using CREATE TABLE
Deleting tables using DROP TABLE
Modifying table design using ALTER TABLE; adding, changing, deleting columns
